BOYNE MOUNTAIN RESORT - The Monument Course
Michigan Golf Course Review
General Information
BOYNE Golf features three top notch resort properties with ten courses of some of the best championship golf in northern Michigan, all available for public play. With designs by
renowned architects Robert Trent Jones and Arthur Hills along with a course that plays tribute to Donald Ross, BOYNE Golf has received high recognition from national
publications including Golf, Golf Digest, Golf for Women, Michigan Golfer - with several layouts listed in Golfweek's Top 100 Resort Courses in the Country. For information on the
property as well as info on golf packages, visit the Properties' website by clicking here.
Boyne Mountain Resort features two award winning championship courses - The Alpine and The Monument layouts. The 4,500 acre resort includes a variety of accommodations
from standard rooms to suites and condos, situated right at the base of the mountain. The Solace Spa is - in our opinion - the top destination spa in the Midwest. Treatments of all
types (19 treatment rooms) are available, with guests also able to enjoy top notch exercise equipment, steam, sauna and whirlpool facilities. Other recreational facilities include
an indoor/outdoor pool with hot tubs, tennis courts, lawn games, and the exciting Avalanche Bay indoor water park - with separate fees for resorts guests and the general public. A
variety of dining facilities are on property, and guests also have access to the Beach House restaurant - located adjacent to the golf facilities (open for lunch and dinner). There
also is a sandy beach with jet skis and watercraft rentals available, just across from the golf courses. For more info on the resort, visit our page for Boyne Mountain Resort with

The clubhouse at Boyne Mountain Resort features a pro shop that services both courses. There also are locker rooms with showers plus dry saunas for men and women.
Practice facilities include a wedge range, three putting greens and two separate sand bunker short game areas. Guests that stay at the beach front Deer Lake Villas have easy
access to the nine-hole natural grass putting course that is situated next to the Beach House clubhouse and nearby lake.
The Monument Course
There are six sets of tee boxes on The Monument Course, that play to distances and slopes measuring 7003 yards/137 slope, 6645 yards/133 slope, 6171 yards/128 slope, 6019
yards/127 slope for men and 136 slope for women, 5698 yards/123 slope for men and 131 slope for women and 4892 yards with a slope of 114 for men and 120 for women from
the forward sets. Golfers will encounter 71 soft sand bunkers along the fairways or greenside, and water hazards come into play on 7 holes including the beautiful finishing hole,
which presents an island green that creates a lasting memory of the course.
The Monument presents a steady diet of elevated tees - beginning with the initial hole, which is a long par five that plays relatively shorter due to the extreme drop off the tee. This
is occurs often, but golfers will often be challenged on approaches as many of the greens are also elevated .The front side also has some tight landing zones, but the back side
opens up a bit and flattens out somewhat.
The Monument features the most dramatic terrain of any of the six designs at The Highlands or Mountain Resorts. As with The Alpine, there are no residential properties along the
route, creating a secluded and peaceful golf experience (with the exception of the sounds of ball hitting lumber) For more info, visit our page for the course, with direct link to the
BOYNE Golf website by clicking here.
