The Highlands is home to four championship courses. The Heather course is serviced by a clubhouse adjacent to the resort with its own grass range and putting green. The Arthur Hills, The Moor and Donald Ross Memorial courses share an expansive clubhouse about two miles away (free shuttle available for the resort). The range at the Ross Golf Center is a large 32 acre facility is one of the largest in the U.S. and offers a sand bunker that can hold an entire group! The range is also home to a TrackMan Range. The nearby BOYNE Golf Academy uses both Trackman and GEARS to facilitate lessons and club fitting. The resort area also features a natural turf putting course, a par three course lit for night play, and the First Tee of Northern Michigan. The private Country Club of Boyne is also on property.

The Highlands features a variety of accommodations including remodeled guest rooms in the Main Lodge, condominiums and cottages on its 3,500 manicured, wooded acres. There are about 400 rooms in total with most situated in the Main Lodge and Heather Highlands Inn.

US 131 turns into US 31 at intersection in Petoskey; follow US 31 north 5 miles to M-119 and turn left (north); follow 3 miles to Pleasantview Road and turn right; follow for 3 miles to Highlands Pike; turn left and follow for 1 mile to The Highlands entrance on the right.

Boyne Mountain Resort features two outstanding championship golf courses - The Alpine and The Monument. Both are serviced by one clubhouse that is equipped with a nicely stocked pro shopalong with locker rooms with showers for men and women. The Beach House Restaurant is located across the street, sitting right on beautiful Deer Lake. Practice facilities include a targeted grass range, short game area with sand bunker, plus putting greens. Golfers will drive their carts about 10 minutes up the mountain, passing ski lifts and trails along the way, to reach each course. Guests staying at the Deer Lake Villas also have access to a natural turf 9-hole putting course that is situated near the lake.

Avalanche Bay Indoor Waterpark is a special feature and Michigan's largest indoor waterpark. Golf at Bay Harbor Golf Club is in a word awesome! There are three distinctive nine-hole courses that are combined into three unique and diverse 18-hole layouts. The Quarry may be the best nine in Michigan, while The Links and The Preserve are not too far behind.
