Bird Creek in Port Austin is the premier golf experience in the Thumb area of Eastern Michigan. This 6500 yard layout features a gently rolling terrain designed over and around
Bird Creek, with 8 holes directly affected by this hazard in some shape or form. Lake Huron is in close proximity, and play on this course can be heavily influenced by the wind
direction, which changes from day to day and sometimes within the course of the round.
There are four sets of tee boxes that play to distances and slopes measuring 6508 yards/128 slope, 6003 yards/122 slope, 5666 yards/118 slope for men and 123 for women,
and 4812 yards with a slope rating of 111 for ladies playing from the red tees. With creek crossings and natural ponds as part of the natural terrain, golfers will encounter water
on 14 of the holes. 48 manicured sand bunkers are situated near the landing zones or greenside.
There is a mix of wide open and tree lined fairways, but most have ample landing zones. The green complexes are accessible and only slightly raised, making this a pleasant
experience for the novice golfer. Avid players will appreciate the nicely conditioned playing surfaces, and will find challenge in the design with sand and water affecting the strategy
on nearly every hole.
On property is a clubhouse with pro shop and the Bird Creek Pub, plus full service practice facilities. Lessons and instruction- using the latest technology, are offered on property.

back hole locations, and yardage markers are positioned in the fairways at 100, 150 and 200 yards (250 on par fives) on all par fours and fives.
Port Austin is considered to be a prime family resort area, with beaches, campsites, and fishing opportunities available. There are a few courses in the area, with Bird Creek
