The Double JJ in Rothbury is a one of a kind western-themed resort - a place where you can golf, relax, have fun and totally "get away from it all". Golfers will find the Thoroughbred Golf Course to be an incredibly beautiful and challenging round, and one that is rated 4 out of 5 stars by Golf Digest. Families will find a place bustling with activities and entertainment from morning until night. The "little cowboy in you" will be pleased to find that everything from horseback riding to complete rodeos are part of the atmosphere at the Double JJ. Three separate areas provide comfortable accommodations ranging from Western Rustic (void of TV's and  telephones) to modern lofts and condos. Top notch amenities will satisfy single golfers, couples, golf groups, families and corporate personnel as well. All-inclusive meal packages are offered (summer season, Christmas and Easter Holidays), and packages can also be booked a la carte. Adult-exclusive programming is available from May to November, family vacations year-round, and corporate and group retreats year-round. Golf, swim, ride horses, or just relax during the spring, fall and warm summer months. Cross-country skiing, snow tubing, sleigh rides, and dog sledding are just a few of the activities available during the winter. Double JJ is truly a unique all-season resort - offering charm and isolation, although located just 3 miles from a major highway.

 The Thoroughbred Golf course is an 18-hole Arthur Hills design with hardwoods, pines, wetlands and lakes traversing through 6,900 yards of secluded terrain. A 147 slope rating from the tips provides a significant challenge for the low handicapper, and 4 sets of tees allow the average and novice golfers to thoroughly enjoy a pleasurable resort round. An amazing diversity of features are found on this spectacular layout, which includes one of the toughest holes in Michigan - the dramatic 425 yard par four 2nd, that curves around a hauntingly beautiful marsh area. On property are a pro shop, driving range, chipping and putting greens.

This may be one of the only courses in the country where horses have the "right of way" at trail crossings. Great golf packages can be combined with meals and other resort activities, although the Thoroughbred is a golf destination in itself.

THE RANCH (No phones, TV's or "city slicker" amenities)

From the beginning of May until mid-July, and from mid-August until the end of October this is an " adults exclusive" playland! From mid-July to mid-August, families are welcome.  Accommodations vary from Standard rooms with twin, double or bunk bed arrangements to the Ranch Deluxe (twin or queen with mini-fridge) to the Ranch Jacuzzis (air conditioning, king bed, mini-fridge and whirlpool tub)

THE BACK FORTY

The Back Forty is a resort on its own, with an "old west" themed environment. Families can enjoy "Main Street" - complete with an old fashioned general store, ice cream parlor, dining hall, craft shop, petting farm and equestrian center.

The Back Forty is open year round, with accommodations ranging from cozy log cabins to an RV Park.

MEETINGS/CONFERENCES

Banquet and Meeting Facilities include the resort's conference center - a tall timber structure complete with a fireplace and the Sundance Saloon and Steakhouse. Various size rooms can facilitate groups from 10 to 250.
