WALLINWOOD SPRINGS GOLF CLUB (616) 457-9920
Michigan Golf Course Review
We did not have to opportunity to play Wallinwood Springs, but drove the course to take photos for this pictorial review. This Jerry Matthews design has been rated 3 stars by Golf
Digest Places to Play and features play along a level terrain with tree lined fairways. Some present tight tee shots and approaches while others are quite open, affording all levels
of players an opportunity to enjoy a challenging but not too difficult round.
The course winds through an upscale residential community and features bent grass fairways and greens that are medium in size and mildly undulating. Another player friendly
quality is that the bunkers greenside are located to the sides or back, leaving the fronts open for bump and runs and run-on approaches. Notable holes are the par three 13th and
15th - which feature elevated tee shots over water, and numbers 16 and 17 which demand carries over natural areas.
Golfers have four sets of tees to choose from, with distances and slopes measuring 6751 yards/128 slope, 6271 yards/124 slope, 5629 yards/117 slope and 5060 yards with a
slope of 115 from the forward sets. There are yardage blocks posted in the fairways at 100, 150 and 200 yards, some sprinkler heads are measured to the center of the green,
and color coded flags indicate front, middle or back pin placements.
On property is a stately Victorian style clubhouse with snack area serving a burgers, hot dogs and beverages - but no liquor is available. There also is a pro shop and nicely
appointed banquet/outing facilities. A grass range and two practice greens are nearby.
This is a nice golf facility - and a good value for the area...challenging for experienced players from the tips, and playable for the average golfer and for women and seniors from
the forward sets. For more info, visit our page for the course, with direct link to their website by clicking here .
