OTSEGO RESORT THE CLASSIC COURSE (800-752-5510)
Michigan Golf Course Review
The Classic Course is the resort course at Otsego Resort in Gaylord, which also is home to one of Northern Michigan's top layouts - The Tribute. is designed over 1,000 acres
that wind through the spectacular Sturgeon River Valley, while the Classic plays up and down ski slopes. The courses are complimented by a well stocked pro shop and practice
facilities that include a grass range and putting greens.
The resort features 80 rooms plus condominium and rental units that are situated on property. There is a swimming pool plus a variety of dining options. For more info on the

The Classic course features a variety of golf holes - some playing to wide open spaces with scattered pines and mounding, while others are tightly tree lined and quite rolling.
Other than the opening hole, there is not much elevation change from tee to green on the front side.
Throughout the design, players will encounter small to medium size greens that often slope from back to front. Water comes into play on just one hole - the long par three 6th. 48
soft sand bunkers can be found along the landing zones off the tee or greenside. There are a few doglegs - but generally, what you see from the tee is what you get. Most of the
holes play straight forward, making this a good experience for resort golfers and high handicappers.
There are 3 sets of tee boxes that play to distances and slopes measuring 6348 yard/121 slope, 6109 yrds/119 slope and 5623 yards with a slope of 113 from the forward tees.
On course yardage markers are located on all sprinkler heads, and 150 stakes are posted on all but the short par fours. Color coded flags indicate front, middle and back pin locations.
