Michigan Golf Course Review
The Mines Golf Club in Grand Rapids is one of the top golf facilities in western Michigan. At par 70 and playing to over 6700 yards, this course is built approximately 150 feet above
gypsum mines that were utilized throughout the 1900's. Golfers will encounter consistent elevation changes over a hilly terrain with large sloping green complexes.
There are 4 sets of tee boxes which play to distances and slopes measuring 6710 yards/130 slope, 6135 yards/123 slope slope, 5438 yards/116 slope for men and 123 for
women, and 4817 yards with a slope of 11 for ladies playing from the forward tees. On course yardage markers are situated on the fairways of all par fours and fives at 100, 150
and 200 yards. Color coded flags indicate the day's front, middle and back hole locations.
On property is a full service practice facility with targeted range, short game area and putting green. The clubhouse features a pro shop plus snack area serving beverages and hot
and cold sandwiches. Instruction and golf schools of various styles are offered.
