There are 65 sand bunkers scattered about the course - many of them sprawling, and water hazards come into play on 6 holes, if you include the Grand Traverse Bay along the
right side on the par 4 fifth. The fairways are very rolling, with some tree lined and others fairly quite open. The green complexes are large, with bunkers, mounding and swales as
frequent features. The putting surfaces range from small to medium in size, with varying undulations. Numerous greens are raised with steep drop offs and collection areas on
one or two sides, and expansive fringe areas. Miss the green and challenging recovery opportunities await.
Lochenheath is an incredibly well conditioned course, and with spectacular vistas and great variety in hole design - this layout is one that visitors to NW Michigan will not want to
miss. It is a challenging layout, but one that will make you anxious to play again! We highly recommend a round here. The property is situated along Hwy 31 just east of the Grand
Traverse Resort complex. The spectacular entrance way will give you a clue as what to expect from this "must experience" golf course.
