GOLDEN HAWK GOLF CLUB (586-727-4681)
Michigan Golf Course Review
Golden Hawk Golf Club, Restaurant and Banquet Center in Casco Township affords NE Metro area residents and visitors a full scale golf facility featuring a 6400 yard golf course,
lighted grass driving range, plus short game area with sand bunker pus putting green. The clubhouse facilities consist of a pro shop, Ed's Eatery Restaurant with breakfast, lunch
and dinner menus - open all year round, plus a banquet room that can accommodate up to 250 people. There also is a wedding gazebo and large covered and open decks.
The golf course plays over level terrain with strategic fairway and greenside bunkering along routing that features tee lined fairways and abundant water hazards. There are over 3
dozen sand traps and water comes into play in some shape or form on 12 holes. The fairways are usually generous, but golfers will be challenged on approaches, as many
green complexes are set into forested landscape or near ponds.
Four sets of tees play to distances and slopes measuring 6402 yards/118 slope, 5651 yards/108 slope, 5238 yards and 4884 yards with a slope of 108 for women playing from
the forward sets.150 yard stakes are situated in the center of the fairways and 100/200 yard markers are also posted on all par fours and fives. Small markers on the flags indicate
front, middle and back hole locations.
As the slope ratings indicate, this is a player friendly layout, ideal for ladies and mid to high handicappers. Though not a long course, there are 4 par fours of 400 plus yards, and
the roomy fairways present ample room to hit driver off the tee. Accurate iron play is necessary to approach the mildly undulating putting surfaces which are usually slightly raised.
The practice facilities are ample, and the clubhouse is a popular place for dining and for weddings and parties. For more information, visit our page for Golden Hawk, with direct
