FOX HILLS GOLF & BANQUET CENTER (734-453-7272) Golden Fox
Michigan Golf Course Review
General Information
Fox Hills Golf & Banquet Center in Plymouth is a top notch 63-hole facility that offers players of every demographic, gender, age and skill level, an opportunity to enjoy a rewarding
golf experience. Sisters Kathy Aznavorian and Sandy Mily had the vision to create 3 different types of golf courses, each satisfying the needs of a variety of skill levels. This is the
only facility in Southeastern Michigan that can boast this type of quality and variety!
The Fox Classic is the original design, and after renovations provides a reasonably priced, 27-hole layout with 4 sets of tee boxes. This course is ideally suited for walking, is a
favorite for outings and leagues, and has slope ratings that present a fair yet challenging round for the average golfer. The Golden Fox is high-end premium layout designed by
Arthur Hills, and is built to challenge avid players with its links style holes that feature undulating greens , high grasses, mounding and abundant natural areas. The Strategic Fox
is the latest course to be added to the mix, and is a beautiful par three 18-hole layout that is fun to play for all levels of golfers, yet unintimidating for novices and juniors - and
affords a great introduction to the game!
The Strategic Fox has its own clubhouse and offers a variety of seasonal "family fun" outings and social events to designed to warm families to the concept of viewing golf as
something to share. Fox Classic and Golden Fox also maintain their own clubhouses - with pro shops and dining areas. Practice facilities include a double ended range with mat
and grass stations, short game area with sand bunker, plus putting greens located near each course.
At 32,000 square feet, the Golden Fox clubhouse facility can host groups of up to 500 people, with a quaint gazebo and outdoor garden area that provide perfect settings for
weddings, banquets and special events. Sundays are special at Fox Hills, as a wondful Sunday Brunch is offered in the beautiful Golden Fox clubhouse, with a great variety of
cuisine available.
GOLDEN FOX
This upscale Arthur Hills design features 4 sets of tees that address the skill levels of all players, with distances and slopes measuring 6783 yards/136 slope, 6431 yards/133
slope, 6042 yards/129 slope and 5040 yards with a slope of 122 from the red tees. There are a significant amount of natural areas and water hazards come into play on 5 holes.
Sand bunkering is strategic but not overstated, with approximately 30 sand traps situated greenside or near the landing zones off the manicured fairways.
Golden Fox is an open, links style layout. From the tees golfers will encounter plenty of natural areas with tall grasses, thick brush and water which must be carried in order to
land on the manicured fairways. Approaching the larger sized greens is by far the greatest challenge as they are guarded with mogul type mounding on all sides. A good
example is the blind approach to the 15th green which has a mounded wall directly in front. Players may want to walk or drive up near the green complex to devise a strategy
before making their approach shots.
The course is well marked - with yardage markers on sprinkler heads and cart paths measured to the center of the greens on all par fours and fives. Sheets with 6 possible
positions that indicate daily pin placements are mounted on all carts. This is a highly recommended golf experience! For more info, visit our page for the course, with direct link to
