Eagle Crest Golf Club opened in 1989 and is the home course of the Eastern Michigan University Men's and Women's Golf Teams. In 2012, the golf course underwent major renovations under the direction of architect Jim Lipe, who has been the lead golf course designer for Jack Nicklaus over the past 20 years. On October 1st, 2013, the Eastern Michigan University Board of Regents passed a resolution to name the golf course Roy E. Wilbanks Eagle Crest Golf Club. It was through his vision and consistency of commitment that Eagle Crest Resort is such a significant part of the EMU and Ypsilanti community. Eagle Crest Golf Club now measures 6,926 yards from the championship tees and has a slope rating of 142 and a 73.0 USGA rating. The course features four sets of tees for different skill levels. Our 16th hole was recently cited by USA Today as one of Detroit's "Dream 18-Most Memorable Holes."
