Michigan Golf Course Review - A U-tube video is available at the bottom of this review.
Fox Hills Golf & Banquet Center in Plymouth is a top notch 63-hole facility that offers players of every demographic, gender, age and skill level, an opportunity to enjoy a rewarding
golf experience. Sisters Kathy Aznavorian and Sandy Mily had the vision to create 3 different types of golf courses, each satisfying the needs of a variety of skill levels. This is the
only facility in Southeastern Michigan that can boast this type of quality and variety!
The Fox Classic is the original design, and after renovations provides a reasonably priced, 27-hole layout with 4 sets of tee boxes. This course is ideally suited for walking, is a
favorite for outings and leagues, and has slope ratings that present a fair yet challenging round for the average golfer. The Golden Fox is high-end premium layout designed by
Arthur Hills, and is built to challenge avid players with its links style holes that feature undulating greens , high grasses, mounding and abundant natural areas. The Strategic Fox
is the latest course to be added to the mix, and is a beautiful par three 18-hole layout that is fun to play for all levels of golfers, yet unintimidating for novices and juniors - and
affords a great introduction to the game!
The Strategic Fox has its own clubhouse and offers a variety of seasonal "family fun" outings and social events to designed to warm families to the concept of viewing golf as
something to share. Fox Classic and Golden Fox also maintain their own clubhouses - with pro shops and dining areas. Practice facilities include a double ended range with mat
and grass stations, short game area with sand bunker, plus putting greens located near each course.
At 32,000 square feet, the Golden Fox clubhouse facility can host groups of up to 500 people, with a quaint gazebo and outdoor garden area that provide perfect settings for
weddings, banquets and special events. Sundays are special at Fox Hills, as a wondful Sunday Brunch is offered in the beautiful Golden Fox clubhouse, with a great variety of
The Strategic Fox presents one of the most enjoyable golf experiences - for all levels of players. Novices will enjoy the variety in hole-design that features a mix of wide open and
contoured holes, with some elevated tee areas and beautiful water hazards. 27 elaborately formed sand bunkers come into play, although the large undulating greens usually can
be approached effectively from the fronts - which invite novices to bump and run their way towards the hole. The high quality and sometimes sprawling traps are usually situated
along the sides, and offer challenge to those hoping to get up and down.
Each tee box has distances measured to the front, middle and back of the greens - providing knowledge that all golfers will appreciate. Small position markers on the flagsticks
indicate the day's hole locations. As a display of the thoughtfulness that went into creating this experience, there are ball washers and benches at each tee area. Especially nice -
golfers can expect to navigate this course in 2 1/2 to 3 hours depending upon course traffic. The conditioning on this course matches that found on the championship layouts, and
prices are extremely reasonable, with walking allowed at all times!
The total yardage adds up to 2524, with holes ranging from 50 to 195 yards. This is the perfect place to hone one's short game - and of course is ideal for a family round, for
seniors and juniors, and as an experience for beginning golfers. From the back tees golfers will find some tight approach type shots, and from the forward sets this course is very
player friendly. We certainly could use a few more courses like the Strategic Fox in the metro Detroit area - we highly recommend this one! For more info, visit our page for the
