The Loon Golf Resort in Gaylord opened in the spring of 2010 and features accommodations that can cater to up to 170 guests. On property is a restaurant/lounge that has been honored as presenting the best food in the Gaylord area, the adjacent 18-hole Loon Golf Course, plus the Lakes course which is situated just a couple miles away.

The Loon reaches all levels of golfers with a combination of multiple tee areas and well designed bunkers. Since it's opening in 1994 this golf course has been what "Friendly Championship Golf " is all about. The Loon has generous landing areas, gently rolling fairways, large greens, and some of the most scenic views Northern Michigan has to offer. Situated walking distance from the resort accommodations, the Loon features full practice facilities with a targeted grass range, short game area with sand bunker plus putting green, The BUTCH HARMON SCHOOL OF GOLF is also on property.

The Lakes course is a favorite with all levels of players, offering six links-style holes, six holes set amid the natural setting with breath taking views and four holes that play around the beautiful Lake Michaywe. A course that is surrounded by rolling woodlands and water is a must play when visiting the Gaylord area. On property is a practice green for putting and chipping (no range), and a clubhouse with pro shop plus bar/snack area serving beverages plus hot & cold sandwiches. Each room features 2 bedrooms with 2 single beds and bathroom with shower, a full kitchen with refrigerator, stove and all utensils, dining area, sofa and chairs, cable television, plus outdoor porch.
