The Briar is an extremely scenic layout with dense forests plus numerous wetlands and water hazards along a beautifully rolling terrain. Golf Digest has awarded the course 3 stars.
On property is a clubouse with lounge featuring hot and cold sandwices, pizza, snacks, and beverages and a spacious outdoor patio. There also is a putting green and hitting nets. This is one of Northwestern Michigan's best golf values
