TWO GUYS WHO GOLF CHARITY TOURNAMENT-2005
The twoguyswhogolf.com annual Charity Tournament is held on the same weekend each year (around May 21) at the Marsh Oaks Course at Oakridge Golf Club in Macomb.
All proceeds from this event benefit the Detroit Waldorf School after-school sports program, which runs basketball, softball and golf programs for 5th – 8th grade girls and boys. Great cause - and a great day! Below are some images from this year's tournament.

One of the major draws of this tournament ( best ball, 4-person scramble) is the impressive list of prizes, which in 2005 included 2 night stay and play golf packages for the top 4 foursomes at Michigan golf resorts – Garland, Lakewood Shores, The Chief/Hawks Eye Golf Resort near Traverse City and the Rock at Drummond Island. There was a tie for 4th place this year, and after a chipping contest, the "losing team" was given a foursome at Treetops as a consolation…Additionally, 4 closest to the pin prizes were awarded, as well as those for women's and men's longest drive competitions. A raffle featured $1500 in golf prizes ( 20 prizes altogether) included a foursome at the fabulous FOREST DUNES in Roscommon - one of Michigan's top golf tracks! Players ran their own "Skins Game", and afterwards a couple dozen golf course certificates were auctioned off as an additional fundraiser.
Dinner, dessert and 3 hours of beer later, a small group of diehards closed the bar and put the 2005 tournament to rest. The folks at Oakridge deserve a lot of credit for being great hosts - we highly recommend this venue for golf outings and parties - as they are certainly are set up to take care of a great variety of formats. A special thank you to all who participated, and to all the golf properties in Michigan and Ontario that donated packages and rounds for this great charitable cause.
NEXT YEAR'S event is already in the planning (same weekend) – and with a greater turnout expected - prizes will include the above PLUS a Chicago golf package featuring COG HILL - annual site of the PGA TOUR Western Open, a top Ontario Golf resort, and other out of town destinations.
